Look to Menuhin for help

October 18, 2011 22:38

Hello Everyone,  There are countless reports of pain and injury on this and every other violin site. One approach to such problems is diagnostic: One looks for the cause(s) and shows a way to accomplish what is wanted in a way that doesn't cause pain. But another approach may well be very effective, especially for those who don't live close to enough violin teachers to be able to find one who can help. "Six Lessons with Yehudi Menuhin"  (on You Tube) is a course which is extraordinary for it's depth and completeness. He demonstrates everything he says, sometimes using a transparent violin for clarity. If you have a problem, check what Menuhin says about it, and give his approach a try. You should find it immediately helpful.   Charles Johnston
