Very fun, Caeli, I'm looking forward to your posts! I'll be curious about what kind of "vibe' this whole thing has to it. For example, when I played in the Disney orchestra, there were a certain self-selection; these were all the kinds of people who would choose Disney over Aspen, people who had some fun in their blood, some attraction to showbiz, etc.

I would think the Youtubers would all be pretty familiar with computers and the Internet, to have gone through the selection process. Also, I bet it will be very cool simply to bring together people from so many different places.

You are going to have a great time!

Dearest CAELI, congratulations... they, who ever they are, have made an excellent choice, to be a vlog spokesperson, for this unique experience.  You have a youthful exhuberance, which is pleasing to the senses. [outakes were xcel/"real"]

About two weeks or so ago, i blogged a 'quicky' to BEN, after seeing his posting here at violinist. com, which i am also a member.  i had been recieving background contacts, via my many associates in NYC, over the past year or so.  My brother PHILP PAYTON, has been actually actively "giging" as a violinist/violist in NYC for a few years.  i also mentioned that MTT and i met years ago when i was part of the ALL-CITY [NYC]Orchestra back in the day (1960's), with his mentor MAESTRO LEONARD BERNSTIEN..  MTT was also my brother PHILIPS' mentor/director, when brother had a fellowship with MAESTRO THOMAS and The NEW WORLD ORCHESTRA, Miami, FL.  So you could say a full circle has once again been generated by our "music/musicans" global village.

Speaking of "music/musician" global village, i experience a phenomenal 3 day wknd. up here in Ann Arbor Michigan, attending the performance of YO YO MA and The SILK ROAD ENSEMBLE.  As an active associate of the UMS [University Musical Society], the're certain 'perks', which one can be invited to; such as a prelude dinner, pre performance reception, AND if you have certain 'creds/props' you have the privledge of participating in a 'community clinic', which i did this past Saturday. The theme was "Our Global World of Percussion", which has been one of my passions/vocations for many years...[ibid:  violinist.com profile]

As i blogged earlier this day to LAURIE NILES, words alone can not express the emotions, inspirational, 'other world' atmosphere and content of these performances by YO YO MA and The Silk Road Ensemble.. i am not embarssed to say i actually teared up a few times... xtraordinary performance/musicianship and compositional exhuberance...!

My best wishes for all you "U-tubers"/V-logers", talents of the symphony...these moments will be with you forever... isn't CARNIEGE HALL "awesome/grand" and again the "other worldly" house/citadel of the "best of the best" venues, you will EVER partake in.. both i [1960's] and my brother PHILIP more recently have performed in the "Big C"..

Again the best to you all, keep in touch and say hello, and a hug to Maestro MTT, via this blog i'm sure he will remember our personas.  Also tell him i am sorry we couldn't meet when he was here last year with the San Francisco Symphony [as an associate i helped pre-empt and fill in the calendar notice for the event] BUT i had to leave at intermission for a flight to DC... last but not least, best regards to the "BEN", a new found 'bro'/advocate/activists for our ART... congratulations, stay true, stay firm...!

Sincerely Yours; jairo c. muniz [jcmltd] dum spiro spero [ while i breathe i HOPE ]

MUSIC IS ALL AROUND US.. YOU WILL HEAR IT..

"BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY... LISTEN"!
