Since the last time I blogged, my entire world has exploded.
Pre-October, I was doing so well with keeping a consistent and practical practice schedule. Then, I got tapped to help with a movie. Then, after that wrapped, it was the holidays. Then, I got a pet mastiff. Then, I was informed that I was needed for some various projects and and fun events around town. Then, my day job gave me more hours. So, um, I hear the Think Method works, uh, great.
I am trying to get things rolling again, but so far have had to rely on a scale here, an etude there, and a few precious hours a week devoted to composition. The mastiff barks at me when I am out of tune (really, he doesn't even flinch at an artificial harmonic, but if I play anything, regardless of octave, out of tune, I get an earful). Sarasate is an afterthought. So what's a girl to do? So far, the only solution I've found is to whittle down my nightly 5.5-6 hours of sleep to nothing and live on a diet of espresso.
What about you? Any tips for a gal who needs to be putting a good 3-6 hours of practice when she has no where near that much time to spare?
