Where's My BowMate?

April 11, 2013 17:57

Today I received a call from a music store in northern Ohio. Their repair/setup technician asked if we carried a product for bow hold development and wanted to know how much they were. I informed him we were the original manufacturer and quoted him dealer pricing. He said he would talk to the owner and get back with me. I was curious and asked how they had heard of our product.

“Well, he replied… that’s an interesting story”….
He told me how they supply rental instruments to area schools and a student had requested an upgraded model. The student turned in their old Violin and left with the newer instrument. As the repairman cleaned and adjusted the instrument he noticed a molded black item in the accessory pocket of the case. It was passed around to his co-workers and not knowing what it was, it was set aside and eventually discarded.

The student eventually realized they had left the item in their old case and returned to the store..”where’s my BowMate? I need it for my lessons…”

They had no idea what it was the student was asking about but briefly remembered the item, and after a search determined they had misplaced it and unfortunately it was lost. The student left the store dismayed, upset, and not knowing what to do.

Later, the student’s string teacher came to the store. Her student had asked her help in getting it back. She was a little upset and felt that the store should replace the item as her student needed it for their lessons.

They were told by the store owner to find a replacement so they could keep everyone happy. A quick Google search directed them to us.

I found the story so amusing, that I offered a free one to help resolve their dilemma....it brought a smile and sense of personal satisfaction...:)

Feel free to share…
