Carnival on a wet Febuary day.My Junior Strings took part in a concert dedicated to the festivities.Pity only only little boy got dressed up! but it is quite difficult to play in costume. The orchestra is aged 6 -11 years.
Nice things you are doing with these kids, is that you, conducting?
yes, a skill I took up by nessecity rather than talent but most of the work is done in the rehearsals
Nice work Janet! Did you compose the first beginner's pieces yourself or are they published somewhere?
They are from 10 '0 clock rock by Eward Hughes Jones. He has published a variety of volumes covering various musical styles such as Irish , Kletzmer, Waltzes , Jazz etc. Most volumes have two violin (or interchangeable viola or cello part), one of which is very simple and piano accompaniement. The volumes are published by Boosey Hawkes. The arrangements are very effective.Thank you Laurie and Teresa for the compliments
Your students did a great job-I love how much bow they use!
