July 2010

Wow It's been a while.

July 15, 2010 21:46

I'm sorry I havn't posted in quite some time. I've been stuck on the last couple of songs I've been playing. My brain just over complicates them. I've also been having issues with my D string, it doesn't want to stay in tune, so I've finally ordered my new strings.

I didn't order a new E, because my luthier put a new one on last time.

I went with the Tonicas, and they'll be here in three days. I'm going to try to put them on, and tune them myself, so wish me luck. (My first time doing both.)

I know to take on string off, and put the new one on, not to take them all off at the same time.

I'm pretty excited about this. I've been slacking on my practice time, but now I'm going to crack down and try to practice more. I really love playing, and I just need to remind myself that in order to get as good as I would eventually like to be, I need to practice everyday.

All's been well, my husband and I are gearing up for his next deployment. The dog is doing good, and over all we're a happy home.

I'll try to update a bit more often from now on.

Also my teacher informs me that there's a big Suzuki convention (thing) going on in two weeks on the island, so I'm excited to see what she ends up with.

I'm also gearing up to buy Mark O'Connor's first book of his teaching method. I've wanted to buy it for a couple months now, but this month I really needed to order the strings, so looks like it'll have to wait for next paycheck.

Hope all is well.
