How do I look for a good violin and bow?

May 21, 2019, 12:12 PM · I have started to learn some grade 5 to 7 pieces. But I still have some technical problems cannot be solved. My violin teacher tells me that it is mainly because of the poor quality of the violin and bow.
My teacher claims his violin and bow is expensive and decent. However I cannot find much noticeable differences between mine and his. Thus the recordings of the sound of his violin playing was not very beautiful.
I do not know how to distinguish good and bad violin or bow. I find it difficult to compare quality of sounds. Can someome please guide me to how to look for a quality violin and bow? How to know if a violin or bow is actually worth its price?

Thank you
