I am writing you today in order to clear up something that has been weighing heavily on my mind. I understand that you might see me as an authority figure, a teacher or role model, but I'd like you to share with you that I try to be more than that. The truth is, I am more like a gardener who tends a precious plant. I am here to help you grow as an individual by sharing my life and musical experiences with you.
My mission is dedicated to your growth and development as a wonderful human being outside of any subject. I am deliberately focused on the development of your creative mind. I agree, sometimes my rules may seem strange, difficult or unnecessary. But I make those rules in an attempt to create an environment that supports your growth. You see, at the end of the day I see a seed in you – a unique seed ready to grow. And I am dedicated to be the cultivating of that seed as it grows into the precious plant it is destined to be.
I may be your teacher, but this is only the form I take in order to be your helping hand through life. The tasks I ask you to do are to challenge you. The homework I give is to keep you accountable. And, the praise I give you is to inspire you. Know that my intentions are always geared towards your ultimate success. The only thing I am in charge of is how I want to approach the growth I see possible in you. Remember this; no matter where life takes you, my wish is that during the time that you are my student that I have helped you to love learning, become a better person and are then inspired to inspire others.
Dedicatedly,
Your Teacher, cultivator
