Chapeau Klez

April 23, 2012 18:06

I started this violin klezmer duo Chapeau Klez four years ago to make selfpayed holiday on the street in france. It went quite well, so we got a lot of inspiration from the good burgundy wine, cheese and fruits. One year later we recorded a CD called Karjalasta with 12 songs, all traditional jewish music spiced up with our ideas and arranged by ourselfes for two violins. Due to personal problems we had to break up for one and a half year. Now we are luckily back on the street and stage thirsting for more fame! :)

Our relationship to klezmer developed through (again) the wine we drank together: If you are in a good mood with a good wine you want to play something with groove and improvised parts. It started out with 3 songs, that we played around and around again to now a program of one hour wich expands regularly (unfortunately because we play everything by heart we tend to lose some songs that we didn't record and forget to play). So if one knows some good songs for us, I would be very happy about you contacting me! As I said, we are thirsty!

I just uploaded some videos from an live concert in Germany to my new youtube channel.
I think I leave it to you, to like, dislike, subscribe or criticise me. I am glad about every feedback I can get from you.
I know here are some with a background in folk music and I am interested in your opinions. Of course of the others too :)
Thank you, if you can support us with a subscripion, a comment, a critique, or just a thumbs up/down
