Waiting for the bus, ah the joy. Anyone ever heard that "bulbous bufont, macedamia, gazebo!" stint from the Dr. Demento collection?
It's snowy outside and I'm loving it! Why do I love this time of year so much? The crispness to the air, the fresh smell of snow on the ponderosa pine trees. I love it! I love it, I love it, I love it! I pulled out my winter boots today in celebration of snow. I just hope the bus can make it up the hill because I currently can't really walk down it due to a knee injury. *sigh*
Practicing is going good these days. I have two concerts tomorrow, one is an all Canadian recital that I'll be performing the Eckhardt-Gramatte Caprice No. 10 at and then in the evening I'm doing triple duty playing piano for my students, viola to help out the orchestra and then violin to solo on in our annual faculty/adult student recital. I'm excited about the Canadian one, I'm going to be receiving a memorial award of some kind and the family who set up this award will be in attendance. It's a one time presentation, I've been told, and so it's very important to the family so I hope I perform well for both theirs and mine own sake.
Other things on my mind these days. Question A. Can I do a major in violin with a minor in composition? and B. If that isn't possible, do I want to not sleep for four years and go for a double major? or C. Just do violin?
I know, I know, I've been a bad blogger the past while. No entry. *sigh* I've been busy though! Really! School... (dropped biology = more practice time and less frustration), working (teaching and working at an essential oil place), and the ever important task of Halloween, oh yeah...I also applied for three universities and have been franticly applying for scholarships!
This year is just flying by me. I'm having a hard time being able to make it slow down, even just for a minute to be able to evaluate my goals and just absorb the moment. It's almost overwhelming but it's so exciting!
There really isn't that much that's all that exciting happening. I'm enjoying having a decent sized studio of students this year which is growing as well as I quite enjoy my newer job working with the essential oils place.
Back to practicing and studying and all that jazz....
