Well Hello again.
I have been practicing. Yes--I think that i spend too much time on the computer but then again i need to see what violinists are up to these days. Good practices, babies, lost violins and favorite composers. i tend to avoid practices when i find myself in a difficult passage and I sneak back to peak at what's going on. Last week i did something I normally do not do-I rushed back home after my lesson and practiced--then I got the vibe to really do another good practice each day--twice a day. I wanted to nail a piece out of the Suzuki book 3 number 4. I got it. Focus-Focus--Don't be nervous. You can play this one if you forget all about the critical eye of the instructor. Don't worry about the light, the time, too hot, too cold, hair a mess--Just focus--Yes! Today is the day! I drive about 35 minutes one way to my lesson and I took my bottled water with me. Just as I hit the expressway I missed my mouth and spilled it down my silky shirt--stains roll off and on to my absorbent jeans. To my horror right between my legs. Big wet sloppy stain on lime green pants! Ok I still have about 11 minutes until i get there. Run the heater. It's 90 degrees--no run the air conditioner.--dry-dry Please dry out. On goes the yellow light. Am I almost out of gas? Oh noooo.
I am going to focus-Humoresque--I own you and no wet pants are going to stop me!
I have the CD --The song runs about 3 minutes and I have time to listen to it 3 more times in my car Cd player. It is great. I can crank up the sound and it is amazing. Too much piano but who cares? i have the melody drilled into my brain and I am practically fingering it on the steering wheel. I am the greatest and I can win this one! No problem. I am almost there. Exactly on time--Breath--remember to breath. Walk to the door--ring bell--knock.
No one home?--teacher on vacation. Turn around--go home and go write in my violinist blog journal. (No one is going to read this.)
