I ordered Hilary Hahn tickets today for me and my daughter. We have been waiting a long time to see her in concert. I knew about this concert from the moment we moved to Indiana.
She will be performing with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra which she will be premiering a new violin concerto especially written for her bye Jennifer Highdon...from my understanding.
My daugher is really excited about seeing Ms. Hahn perform since she has been her role model since I can't remember when :)
We can't wait!
You and your daughter are so lucky! You're going to be a part of history with THE world premiere of the violin concerto.
It's probably going to be a long time before I ever see Hilary perform because it doesn't seem Utah is in her plans.. (hint hint, Hilary if you ever read this)
But that will be so amazing for you and your daughter :)
Enjoy yourselves!
We have always lived in areas that don't have much in the way of musical venues. The only other string groups that we have seen are the Ahn Trio and Rachel Barton Pine who will be coming to our community HS to give a recital and master class.
We are indeed fortunate.... I am just glad I got tickets!
I will blog about the concert... My daughter's violin teacher who is a member of the 1st violinists of Indianapolis Symphony says its a wonderful piece and that Ms. Hahn is "spot on" every time.
Greetings,
you think you have it bad. Where I live is the center for over the hill ex members of the Vienna Phil to sleaze through a few piece sand make quick buck. (Wrote about an honorable excpetion a while back)
Hilary crops up once in a blue moon, thankfully.
Cheers,
Buri
