Excited for next semester...SENIOR RECITAL

December 21, 2006 09:00

So I'm really excited about doing my hour recital! So much work to do on top of the Ed major and Spanish minor. Whew!
Mr. Lindsey gave me some ideas, but I think I've decided to make the program...

*Bach - Allegro in Aminor from Sonatas and Partitas
*Mozart - Rondo in C or an oboe quartet I'm doing with some friends.
*Brahms - First or Third movement of his second violin sonata, op. 100.
*Prokofiev - 5 melodies (all 5, I only did two for my last recital, to fit in the time slot)
*Piazzolla - Tango Etudes for Flute or Violin solo, Nos. 1 and/or 3.
*Mendelssohn - Violin concerto in Eminor, Mvt. 1

What order to do these in though!? I'm thinking I should end with Mendelssohn, so maybe I would do something like,

or maybe switch the Brahms and Piazzolla? Also depending on how things go, I have the William Bolcom mvt. IV or Sonata III (Stramba Sonata) that I can substitute for something, although I'm really happy with these pieces! Maybe I'll do the Bolcom for an area recital....hmmm...I'm just happy that I'm getting my performer's certificate!!

Off to Christmas shop and get some practice time in before work!
