Well, I played in church this am.....it was a last minute thing. I showed up with the violin and checked to see what hymns were being done....tried them out and wasn't impressed with my efforts...and was going to weenie out of it...haha...
But, the pianist showed up, dragged me into the sanctuary and we played a few things together as folks were drifting in (a much more relaxed atmosphere than during the service).
Anyway, I ended up doing the music and did just fine. I think that warm up helped alot...I was much less uptight and worried and besides, it's easier to play while the congregation is singing along. This time I got many compliments and surprised remarks...lol...feels oh so good !
I have 4 pieces to work on for a cantada that we're doing for Easter. That's going to be a bit more intense.....I have some solos..(eek)...
I'm hoping that playing more frequently on Sundays, will help me get over the fear factor for this thing. Wouldn't do to freeze up during such a nice event....when everyone is working so hard to make it special......
"Gads" I hope I don't choke !!
