On Thursday, July 20, 2017 I again played with the MN Orchestra, in Orchestra Hall, during their Fantasy Camp. Tweet
I also played with them in their 1st Fantasy Camp in 2011 and when I was 12 years old. Clifton Jackson was my teacher and a 1st violin and personnel director for the MN Orchestra for many years.
What a fun time I had. It was a great experience. Out of hundreds of applicants, 50 of all different instruments were chosen. I am not sure how many violinists were chosen, but I played 1st violin. Our score was Roman Carnival at 156.(2 and 1/2 beats per second.)
We went to Orchestra Hall the Tuesday and Wednesday before the concert, to rehearse and attend mentoring and teaching classes. If you get a chance to apply for the next Fantasy Camp, I strongly suggest doing so.
Thank you Osmo Vanska and Sara Hicks, Music Directors and Conductors.
