Making my first violin!

December 24, 2018, 4:15 AM · My brother owns a CNC machine in his garage, I used a standard blueprint to cut out the f holes and the shape of the violin. I then took a razer and carved the lining on the edge. I carved the inside to match other violins. I made the color brown by lightly burning the top of the wood to change its tone slightly but does not affect the density of the wood since it was enough to change the pigmentation on the wood. Im using maple back and spruce top like traditional violins. The tailpiece was crafted out of rosewood in the shape of a harp. I used gorilla glue and standard wood varnish gloss for 5$ from any shop. I ordered the soundbar online and cut out the right shape I needed before gluing it inside the violin. Its all in all a fun project. I was wondering if any of you built a violin before and what was your experience like? I haven't yet played my instrument but I will once its done gluing together. Im getting expensive strings for 200$ because strings matter the most. I crafted the bridge out of maple. FYI I was wood crafting since I was 6 and played the violin since I was 4.
