I guess maybe it was a good thing my birthday happened and I got into a few new 'toys', for now that I decided to spend some time on music this morning, I have some brilliant ideas that I was struggling to come up with when working before. I'm currently working on a piece called "An Evening Romance in Paris for orchestra", and it's turning out to be a very beautiful piece, rich in strings, fluttered in flutes, caked in French horns, iced in harp and piano. I'm quite proud of this, and if I continue working in September, I hope to submit it around Halloween-time (like last year, I believe) for the composition contest. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I did get the results back, and they were helpful. For publication purposes, I should use a more professional outlook on the score, as well as attempt to get a real orchestra to play. That will be very exciting if I can get a real orchestra to play my music! :)
I feel bad I haven't updated in a while. On the other hand it is nice hearing crickets outside my window as I type this...
For the movie, it's basically complete. I have nowhere else I want to put music. Nothing else to do. However, I am still composing, indirectly, for Doctor Who episodes. Essentially, I'm making up a Doctor Who series inside my head, with the Doctor and his companion Ebonique. I have a soundtrack built with some things by Murray Gold, but I'm writing some stuff too. It's all practice! Cos practice makes perfect!
So yeah, not much to say now. Maybe it'll get more exciting come this autumn. Sorry!
