Oh, good Lord!! How can I possibly resist responding to this one?
I'm so discouraged,
I'll have a scotch and soda,
Cause no one has the time
For a Beethoven coda.
I try to play Beethoven's anything,
But it always fails.
How do you make music
Out of arpeggios and scales?
Sure, he was a genius.
His 5th Symphony? How'd he think it?
But play it the right way?
I'd rather drink it.
Yet if truth be told
(And I'm not being coy)
It's Beethoven's music
That I owed to joy.
