[SESSION] Session I Monday 20 July - Friday 31 July, 2009 Session II Monday 3 August - Friday 14 August, 2009[ACADEMY PLACE] Lesson : University of Music and Theater Leipzig “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Practice :Second Building of University of Music and Theater Leipzig Approx. 70 Practicing Rooms Available [VENUE for CONCERTS] Main institutions and concert halls in Leipzig, including: Gewandhaus Old Stock Exchange Germany Supreme Court Leipzig University – Great Hall / Chamber Music Hall / Orchestral Hall Mendelssohn House Schumann House Bach Music School Bach-Statue in Front of Thomas Church [CONCERT TYPES] Totally 50 Concerts are held everyday during the Festival, including: Opening Concert Professors Concert Young Artists Concert International Competition Prize Winner Concert The Distinguished Participants Concert Concert with Professors and Participants Participants Chamber Music Concert Various Academy Concerts like Class Concert [ACADEMY PROFESSORS & PARTICIPANTS] About 25~30 world-renowned professors and artists join the faculty for each session and about 300 music-studying students from more than 30 countries including all Europe, USA, Canada, Latin America, Asia, Australia, participate in the Academy. [COURSE FEE FOR STUDENTS] 590 EUR per session Includes: - 4 one-hour lessons - Free chamber music lessons - Free usage of practice rooms - Admission free for concerts inside the university - Discounted tickets for concerts outside the university - Admission free to other official events of the festival - Many chances to play at various concerts Accommodations should be booked by student. They can stay at students’ house or hostel or hotel. At Students House, single room is available at 150~200EUR for one month. [SHORT INFO of 2008 FESTIVAL] The Euro Music Festival has been held in Leipzig from 2005 since it started in 1998 in Kyungju followed by Seoul, Busan, Pyungchang, Suwon, Ulsan, Pohang and Jeju in Korea along with Wien in Austria, Prague in Czech and Mainz in Germany.
The fourth Euro Music Festival in Leipzig was held from 21st July to 16th August, 2008 for a month in two sessions. Almost 300 students from over 30 countries have participated in the Academy having been taught by world-distinguished professors in piano, organ, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, horn, singing, guitar and chamber music for 4 weeks. 50 Concerts of the festival, including the various academy concerts, were held every day in major institutions and concert halls in Leipzig such as Gewandhaus, Old Stock Exchange, Schumann House, Mendelssohn House, J. S. Bach Music School, The Federal Administrative Court and concert halls in the University of Music and Theater Leipzig. The participants communed with other multi-cultural participants and learned through the experiences of solo and chamber music. They also got a chance to widen their view over music through the various concerts every day……………..
