Madeline Isand Music CampLast edited by Erin Rushforth. When: Where: A four-week program for 48 talented string players and pianists who come from across the country and around the world to study chamber music with a distinguished faculty and resident string quartets. In addition, the Music Camp conducts a one-week program for winds and a three-day program for amateur adults. The Music Camp owns a 10-acre wooded site with solo and ensemble practice room buildings as well as three architecturally designed student lodges. The Mary Lange Music Center, with dining facilities, music library, administrative offices, student lounge, and fireplace, is within walking distance of the practice rooms and student lodges. Students and artist faculty perform each week at The Clubhouse located near the campus overlooking the lovely grounds of the golf course with spectacular views of Lake Superior and the Marina. Madeline Island is located in northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior. The Island is 14 miles long and three miles wide, and is reached by a short ferry ride from the small town of Bayfield, Wisconsin. The Island is home to approximately two hundred year-round residents and over two thousand summer residents. Its relative isolation, relaxed atmosphere and incredible natural beauty provide an inspirational environment conducive to the highest level of music accomplishment.
