Crane Youth Music CampLast edited by Jessie Vallejo. When: Where: CYM Campers learn from master teachers in superb facilities. The five-building Crane Music Center houses the 1,200-seat Helen M. Hosmer Concert hall, the newly renovated 450-seat Sara M. Snell Theater, 15 classrooms, 4 large rehearsal rooms, 60 studios, 70 practice rooms and an in-house library. Over 300 students attended CYM last year. In the past 34 years, over 8,200 young musicians have participated in the program; CYM alumni are now performing in major symphonies or teaching in universities and schools nationally. Recreational activities are available in the afternoon, and evening concerts include performances by student groups, visiting artist-performers, and The Crane School of Music Faculty. This summer, students will again have the opportunity to attend concerts featuring professional artists and groups such as the Orchestra of Northern NY, the Susquehanna String Band, and the All-Star Big Band.
