Lutheran Summer Music AcademyLast edited by Andrew Paa. When: Where: Lutheran Summer Music Academy, now in its 26th year, is an audition-based program for youth in grades 8-12. The Academy features an outstanding faculty of artists and teachers who guide gifted high school and college students from around the country through a month of intensive musical study and performance. Open to students of all faiths, the Academy & Festival is committed to strengthening and expanding excellence in music. The program hosts students from dozens of states and foreign countries. This year’s Academy will be held on the campus of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, June 22 to July 20. There are scholarship opportunities available, for merit-based, financial need and community funds match grants. Over 80% of our students are awarded scholarships each summer. If interested, starting scholarships of $500 for string positions are still open – before we have even looked at the other scholarship options available. Students will need to submit an online application, using the code VPR07, to qualify. For additional information on our program you can link to our website: LutheranSummerMusic.org. There you will find the application, a full listing of our faculty, curriculum and repertoire – plus much more. Or, write our Admissions Director, Susan J Olstad at SOlstad@LutherSummerMusic.
