Aria International Summer AcademyLast edited by Tim Hill. When: Where: The ARIA International Summer Academy has relocated to the New England area, specifically to Williams and Mount Holyoke Colleges of Massachusetts for the summer of 2008. Applications are now being accepted from advanced violin students and young professionals between the ages of 16-32 years old. The program will offer three sessions as follows: Session I (June 17-30) and Session II (July 1-14), both at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where participants will receive private lessons, master classes, and chamber music instruction. The faculty includes David Russell (Cleveland Institute of Music), Mikhail Kopelman (Eastman School), Anton Miller (Hartt School and NYU), Oleh Krysa (Eastman School), Gregory Fulkerson (Oberlin Conservatory), and Piotr Milewski (Cincinnati College-Conservatory). NEW FOR 2008 to ARIA is Session III at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, (July 27-August 5), which is a BOOT CAMP FOR VIOLINSTS !!! This will be an intensive workout on technical issues. Session III will include private lessons, workshops, master classes, seminars, lectures on fundamentals of technique, efficient and intelligent practicing, musicianship, and career topics.
