Program:
The 14th International String Master Classes in Litomyšl, Czech Republic, offers one of the most intensive courses of study anywhere, with students receiving one-on-one lessons with their teacher, plus string quartet lessons with some of the most experienced chamber musicians in the world. Each participant will receive:

Six individual lessons of 60 minutes each during the first two weeks of the master class.

Six string quartet coaching's of 60 minutes each during the first two weeks of the master class.

During the third week, lessons will be given in an open classroom setting as dress rehearsals for the final public concerts with all participants present. The master class will be concluded by a series of public concerts, with each of the individual participants and string quartets performing at least one of the pieces that they have studied during the master class.

The faculty, consisting of Prof. Milan Vitek, violin, Oberlin College Conservatory; Michael Malmgreen, violin, The Royal Danish Academy of Music; Ilari Angervo Principal Violist of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Prof. Wolfgang Mehlhorn Hochschule für Musik Hamburg will give students and string quartets from all over the world intensive and inspiring lessons in their instrument as well as in string quartet repertoire.

The master class will take place at the historical renaissance castle in the beautiful East Bohemian town of Litomysl, birthplace of the famous Czech composer Bedrich Smetana. Located approximately 175 km Southeast of Prague, the town offers a charming environment, as well as ample recreational opportunities such as swimming, tennis and nature hikes.
