CoMA Contemporary Music Festival Summer SchoolLast edited by Chris Shurety. When: Where: This international Summer School includes orchestra, choir and workshops in performance, composition, electroacoustic music and improvisation. Tutors include percussionist Joby Burgess, pianist Rolf Hind, singer Lore Lixenberg, conductor Odaline de la Martinez and composers Michael Zev Gordon, Jean Hasse, Tim Hodgkinson and Rob Worby. Festival concerts include a Smith Quartet Cutting Edge concert, Rolf Hind’s birthday tribute to Simon Holt, Paul Burnell retrospective, New Noise cabaret performance and Shoot the Pianist - a midnight event with Lore Lixenberg. The Festival also features a showing of Faust, Murneau’s classic silent movie set to music by Jean Hasse. Open workshops include contemporary piano classics, writing for movies, Kagel theatre, Asian percussion, Kurt Schwitters and composer workshops with the Smith Quartet.
