Jonathan and David Morey's shop was founded in 1928 by their grandfather, and has remained a family operation ever since. A number of talented luthiers (including Gerrit Maurer, Shiquan Zhao, and Zhang An) craft instruments and provide restoration/repair services on-site. In addition to an extensive collection of instruments and bows (including superb student offerings from their own workshop as well as instruments of more significant value), the store houses an extensive sheet music section.Posted via 70.34.19.23 on April 3, 2006 at 10:55 PM (MST) I was introduced to the shop by one of my former teachers years ago, and my personal experience with Morey's over the past decade has been beyond excellent. A number of my students have found great-sounding (and well set-up) instruments for far lower cost than competing shops, and my colleagues and I are always impressed by the quality and multitude of (especially) the violas and bows.
