I recently had the pleasure of going to Michael Fischer's shop while looking for a bow. While there we also had the opportunity of seeing some of Michael's outstanding violin creations. Holding one of his instruments is like holding the original- so exact and meticulous is his reproduction skill. New violins made today by current makers look like mass produced instruments. Michael's instruments are works of art and philosophy. From his vast experience as a violin maker and craftsman, he tries to imagine the original makers intent while crafting their instruments and puts into his creation something of this mystical quality. Beautiful creations made with more than millimeter for millimeter exactness, they embody the tradition of violin making like no other instruments being made today. Their physical beauty is exceeded only by their majestic sound. You owe yourself the treat of visiting his shop and meeting one of the world's rare treasures of violin making.

Michael Fischer is my favorite violin maker, a real "mensch" with a heart as big as..... He is the only LA maker to specialize in Baroque and transitional instruments for early music performers, highly trained many years with Hans Weishaar, Michael has a nice shop cram packed with spectacular stringed instruments, quite a few made by himself, If you haven't seen one of Michael's masterful instruments, you owe his shop a visit, he's very busy though, something I'll never be, my hat's off to him and the true support he's been to me as a friend, sincerely Lyndon J Taylor

I represent Mr. Fischer on the East coast, Orner Enterprises,Inc.
Together with my wife we own seven of his violins !
In our opinion he is the greatest builder of stringed instrumets in the world today!

I will have yearly varnish touchup work done on my long pattern Strad. Michael is one of only a few makers I will let touch this instrument. He is meticulous in his approach. His work is impeccable. I also have a violin that Michael made for me which is an exact copy of my instrument. It is a pleasure playing on his instruments.
