Synthetic violin bow

December 15, 2017, 8:34 AM · Does anyone know anything about the 'Boosey and Hawkes Golden Strad violin bow with Stradex hair"? I have one. I have no idea when or where I got it about 30 years ago. It plays bright and clear. I hardly ever use it. I have 4 other bows that I have had since High School days in the 50s. I play with an Eastman Cadenza which I really like. I can't find anything on the Boosey and Hawkes site about it.
Thanks
Terry

According to the Golden Strad brochure the Stradex is a synthetic hair. Does not say anything about rosin but there is a diagrammatic instruction on how to replace it oneself. I could send photos of the bow and the brochure but I don't know how to do it. Laurie told me how but I don't understand the terminology. I am not a computer expert!
