3 Violins and Orchestra/Piano Accompaniment

September 30, 2017, 9:44 AM · What are good pieces for 3 violins that have an orchestra or piano accompaniment? We've listened to Bach D major, Vivaldi F Major and A Major, Telemann... Romantic era pieces are preferred but recommendations from any music period would be okay. Thanks!

September 30, 2017, 11:07 AM · Try browsing the IMSLP catalog, in particular the Instrumentation/Genre category, and key “3 violins” into the box entitled “search all category names”.

You may or may not find what you are looking for, these categories are not hugely populated yet.
October 2, 2017, 1:58 AM · Not romantic, but you can arrange the well tempered piano by Bach to this easily.
I dont really know pieces originally written for this. If you can spend a lot of time and got a very good pianist (in the soundcolour he can produce) you can arrange some Rasumovsky from Beethoven maybe.
