Hi, I'm look for some short, romantic violin pieces

July 26, 2017, 10:02 PM · Hi everyone, I'm looking for some violin pieces that similar to this music video. I like how romantic and melodic of the violin small playing in that video so much. I'm not good at English to describe my thinking. Thanks for any help.

July 27, 2017, 3:33 AM · Hi here is some suggestions:

1)
M.T. Von Paradis - Siciliene

Score:

2)
Franz Von Vecsey - Valse Triste

3)
Tchaikovsky - Valse sentimentale

Score: find it yourself :)

4) Schubert serenade

You can find different arrangements. Micha Elmans arrangement is difficult. I think Hans sitt also made an arrangement for violin which is easier

I believe this is the Hans Sitt arr.:

enjoy

I can also recommend to listen to some of Fritz Kreislers small pieces.

July 27, 2017, 7:07 AM · And some more:
Dvorak - 4 romantic pieces
Schumann - Romance in A (originally for oboe?)
Various arrangements of Chopin Nocturnes (I once played one but I can't remember the arranger)
Tchaikovsky - Melodie (I can't remember any more details)
Albeniz Tango (Slightly more challenging, technically - arrangements by Kreisler and Dushkin)
July 27, 2017, 7:26 AM · Thank you so much SP and Peter. Hope you have a nice day.
July 27, 2017, 8:22 AM · Beethoven - Historia de Amor (requires arrangement)

August 19, 2017, 5:03 AM · Romantic pieces

If we're talking romantic in the sense of love then

Liebeslied
Liebesfreud
Vocalise
Salut damour
La capricieuse Elgar
Estrellita ponce
Sweet remembrance Mendelssohn
Beau Soir Debussy
Clair de Lune
Romance wiesniawski
2nd mov of paganini concerto 4
Girl with the flaxen hair

To name a few

August 20, 2017, 5:44 PM · Everything that Ahmed recommended as well as:

Romance in f minor Dvorak
Brahms concerto for violin and cello (with cello) movement 2
Bruch violin concerto movement 2
Meditation from thaiis
Sibelius violin concerto mvt. 2
The Lark Ascending
Barber violin concerto movements 1 and/or 2

some pieces that aren't violin solo/featuring the violin but you should listen to:

Dvorak Serenade for strings waltz
Borodin string quartet no. 2 mvt 1 and/or 3
Barber Angus Dei
Barber Adagio for strings (which is Angus Dei but for strings instead of voice)

August 20, 2017, 5:52 PM · The Amy Beach romance is lovely.
August 20, 2017, 8:58 PM · Faith i believe Nhan was going for short.
Well if we were given a technical plateau it'd be easier :).

Go on enscorser and type romance for violin. You'll find a loot of things. Some quite unknown.

I'm working on a Rach transcription you'll get that if i remember. It's a prelude Andante Cantabile

August 24, 2017, 4:36 PM · Nocturne by Khatchaturian
Lullaby by Stoyanov
August 25, 2017, 10:14 PM · Hi Mary and others,

I listened to Amy Bach Romance according to your suggestion and fell in love with such expressive and penetrating piece.

Can I ask how difficult is this piece compared to Salut D Amour (E major, original) and Thais Meditation? Assuming I get to the level required, which one of these three should I begin first?

August 26, 2017, 2:50 AM · OK I'm Bach.

The easiest is the meditation
Then the amy beach
Then the salut d'amour.

August 26, 2017, 2:55 AM · Oh really? I thought amy beach was most difficult. But yeah I do think meditation is easiest though.

Thank you Ahmed.

August 26, 2017, 4:27 AM · It's because i don't know if you know harmonics. Artificial. If u do then salut d'amour becomes the easiest.
