Violinists: Looking for any recordings...

Does anyone have any recordings of Boris Goldstein other than Gliere concerto? My teacher lent me the Gliere CD and his playing is unbelievable. It's like Oistrakh to the next level.

If you're interested, I do have his recording of the Brahms sonatas.

May I know what label is the cd? And also if it is still in print?

There are no Boris Goldstein CDs in print. If there were I would've gotten them a long time ago.

If they ever were in print (he was greatly restricted from making any recordings, from what I've heard) they would have been on the Russian Melodya label.

My dad saw him play Wieniawski No.1 in Manchester when he was in Royal Northern and I'm trying to get the recording of it... hope it works.

Ok, I've checked my CD collection and I have him doing the three Brahms Sonatas, the Bach E major VC and Mendelssohn D minor VC as well as the Gliere VC G minor. I also have him playing Handel's Gebet, Beethoven's Spring sonata Op 24, Schumann's Fantasiestucke Op 73 and Schumann's Sonata No 3 (A minor)

By the way - the Brahms Sonatas are on a Meloyida issue - whilst the other two are privately compiled.

If you do find that recording of Wieniawski no.1 then I can only envy you. He was said to be the premier interpreter of this concerto.
