Happy 100th Birthday to Joseph Gingold

Teaching: A celebration of a great teachers life and legacy took place in Indianapolis.

One of the most celebrated teachers was honored in Indianapolis on the occasion of his 100th birthday.  It started with Wieniawski and Ysaye and was passed  to Joseph Gingold.  Gingold's influence as one of the most respected teachers of the 20th century helped mold the careers of Jaimie Laredo, Andres Cardenes, Miriam Fried, Joshua Bell, and many others.  That rich tradition is being passed down to scores of young violinists today.  Just thought that violinists on this  site should be reminded of a violin heritage that started in Poland and Belgium before passing through Bloomington Indiana, a heritage and school that has influenced many violinists performing today.
