A few years back, my music teacher in school told us that Jefferson played the bird organ in adition to common instruments. The Bird organ is a small high-pitched pipe or reed organ that was used to teach birds to sing.

K.V.O.D. Mentioned him owning loads of sheet music and amoung it were works by Buccarini (sp?).
