Juilliard Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin StudiesNews: Anyone going to this at the end of the month? I am. Oh boy! Also, here's a list of the young artists who were selected to play in the masterclasses.
The Juilliard Symposium on Violin Studies will take place May 26-30, and yours truly will be there, broadcasting live ;) No, just writing my usual stuff! Here's some fun information I received today; they've named the young artists who will be playing in the masterclasses, which will be taught by Itzhak Perlman, Brian Lewis, Paul Kantor, Chee-Yun Kim, David Kim, Joel Smirnoff, and Joan Kwuon. Here they are: Stefani Allison Collins, age 20, from Summerfield, North Carolina I can't wait!

Posted on May 6, 2009 at 04:18 PM Will there be a recording or a YouTube video made of this masterclass so that we in other parts of the USA can view the proceedings at a later time ?? Any news will be appreciated... Ted Kruzich

Posted on May 6, 2009 at 05:13 PM I wish DVD's of the symposiums would be available for those of us who can't afford to go or are unable to make it. From Rosalind Porter
Posted on May 6, 2009 at 11:53 PM I would have thought that to film the masterclasses and issue them on DVD or even to download off the internet for a reasonable fee, would prove an excellent way of raising extra money to help fund scholarships etc for future masterclass students. Laurie, hope you are able to attend and provide some feedback for us all from some of the masterclasses! From Lucy Lewis
