For his Amati's 400th birthday, Borok commissioned In Excelsis , by Alexander Raskatov, which the Dallas Symphony premiered last week.

Emmanuel Borok is simply awesome.  He played the Beethoven Concerto with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra when I was a student at SMU.  Simply amazing.  We played it at  the Meyerson and it was truly an amazing experience.  Of course, he also was one of my judges at juries every December and May.  Pretty nerve wracking, though his comments were always well thought out and constructive.  I enjoyed reading the article.  Thanks Laurie.
