Hi Ed, I know your post is a few years old now, but I unearthed it in a similar fruitless hunt on this maker, Yuri Ivanov. Do you still have the instrument? I have an Ivanov on trial at the moment - signed and dated 2005, apparently made while he was living and working in Beijing, but can find nothing on the maker, save for a couple of cheaper looking instruments by Ning-Ivanov on Ebay that don't look like the one I have here at all. We have a throng of violins in our home right now for trial, and keep returning to the Ivanov for the same reasons you cited years ago...... If you still have your Ivanov, what are your comments on it now? If you moved it on..... why? Any info you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
