Juilliard program for poor children may continueNews: The program was to have been cut severely, but LA philanthropist Eli Broad has pledged a donation that could save the program.
Earlier this week, the Juilliard School announced that it would have to make deep cuts in its Music Advancement Program for poor children, canceling auditions for next year, with the plan that there would be no incoming class. It appears, however, that this may not happen after all. Los Angeles philanthropist Eli Broad, with his Broad Foundation, has pledged to contribute $425,000 so that the Juilliard School can continue the program.
