The Singing Violinist!News: Is Joshua Bell releasing a CD where he 'sings' the violin parts? True? or April Fools?
I just heard on KVOD Denver's classical music station, that supposedly Joshua Bell is releasing a CD called, "The Voice of the Violinist" due sometime this Spring, where he sings the violin parts to various works. An assortment of very nicely arranged samples were played and who ever it was (Bell or whomever) did a nice job. True? or April Fools? What do you say?

Posted on April 1, 2009 at 03:44 PM I just visited KVOD's website. There was mention on the home page about their interview with "Internationally unknown musician" Monique Vichyssoise where she announced this CD, and there's a link to a recording of the interview. I don't want to ruin it for you... listen to the whole interview and decide for yourself. :)

Posted on April 1, 2009 at 05:15 PM I heard the interview and doubt she's what or who she say's she is! SAM- I think I'm with you! It's April Fools and it's a riot! From Laurie Niles
Posted on April 2, 2009 at 05:28 AM It's pretty silly, click here to listen. But it doesn't sound much like Joshua! I suspect it's the guy doing the "interview"... I'm happy to see KVOD still doing well, it was the first classical station I ever listened to! From SAM MIHAILOFF

Posted on April 2, 2009 at 05:12 PM I thought it was sort of wierd that he (the DJ) asked her or at least agreed to listen to the next sample and she on the telephone and the example played sounded crisp! I was thinking, "What?" Anyway, it's fun and I got a laugh out of it. I just had to post it! :^D Laurie- That's right, you are from these parts. And you would know Joshua's voice. From SAM MIHAILOFF
Posted on April 2, 2009 at 09:24 PM The first tell-tale sign might have been the lame French accent and the name "Vichyssoise" From Christopher McGovern
Posted on April 4, 2009 at 04:26 PM Hmm... Didn't another soloist do that for real? ;) From claudio mahle
Posted on April 5, 2009 at 04:55 AM Hmmm... Maybe he should first sing (and then play...) also from 04.02 / till 03.31 , would enlarge his career a couple of years...Pretty stiff guy IMO (sorry, counting first month than date is pretty unusual to me...) |
