The D string on my violin does not last very long and they seem to keep breaking in the same spot; above the fingerboard near the first finger on first position.
I've tried 2 sets of Tonicas which last 3 months max. My most recent set which were Helicores lasted only a month which I then replaced with another Helicore D string, and that broke in a mere 10 days.
My local Luthier doesn't really know what's going on but he filed the nut area just in case.
Would love any opinion on what may be happening, or if you've seen or encountered such a problem before!
Sorry if I broke any rules as this is my first post, thanks in advance!
