I am on the lookout for a new violin and since I am based in India, I do not have many options to choose from rather than have one imported to my country. Currently, I have a Granada violin (Made in China). The outfit costed me about $100. I've played this for quite sometime and feel unsatisfied. I was advised to buy from Sharmusic or Southwest Strings but the former said no to international shipping, while the latter agreed but charges around $139 in shipping and other duties. The Klaus Mueller Bucharest violin outfit will cost me $500 if I were to order. It comes with a choice of D'Addario Prelude strings, Thomastik Dominant strings, or D'Addario Zyex strings, a nice thermoplastic case, and a brazilwood bow with horsehair .They also take liability for any defects/damages during transit. I just wanted to know if it will be good enough.
Here is a link of the violin.
What are my other options?
Furthermore, I can get a Hofner violin in India (free shipping and no duties) for about $500/35000 INR
Which one should I go with?
I have a budget in mind too. Although I have money, I can't spend more than $600-700 for a violin for now.
Please help me in choosing the right one
