Also educated in historic instrument practices and active as a Baroque and Classical violinist. Education in contemporary music techniques with Felix Galimir, among others. Extensive solo and chamber music repertoire. Current faculty of NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. Former faculty of MIT and the Boston Conservatory, and have given master classes throughout the US and Mexico. Guest lecturer on period instrument practice at Juilliard and CUNY. Frequent judge of Juilliard's Upper Division Concerto Competitions, among others. Performances as soloist with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, London Symphony, San Francisco Symphony and Atlanta Symphony, among many others, and recordings with the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic and Hanover Band, the last on period instruments. Tours of China with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and of England and the US with the Hanover Band. Former member of the Boston Chamber Music Society and co-founder, artistic director and violinist of the Music of the Spheres Society. Awarded Avery Fisher Career Grant (1987) and medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Recitals and chamber music appearances throughout the US, Europe, Asia and South America.
