I studied cornet from age 8-17, guitar starting 1995, bluegrass mandolin starting 2002. A friend gave me a violin in 2008; I tried fiddling a bit, then decided to get serious and started classical lessons in November 2009. I have a good ear and knowledge of music theory. The violin is the most difficult of the instruments I've tried, but I'm having a lot of fun playing classical music with friends.
