I learned to play by listening to recordings of people who I admire.
I learned how to play by traveling to Ireland,Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and listening to what they had to 'say' musically.
Cannot "read" a note of music.
Play by ear-but play well always.
Well,sometimes.
