Many years ago, my cousin played Twinkle Twinkle at Christmastime. He was 4 years old and I was three years old. This inspired me to ask my parents if I could learn to play the violin, too. My dad also plays the violin and is currently letting me use his violin, "Jaques." Little did my parents know back then that I would be taking "Jaques" on so many adventures.

Jaques has been my companion at Luther College in Decorah, IA where I acquired my B.A. in Music with a violin performance emphasis.

Jaques also helped me get through the nerve-wracking process of auditioning for grad school. During my first year of grad school, I ran into physical problems and had to give my studies a rest for a while. Musculoskeletal disorders have been ruled out and it has been determined that the pain in my right shoulder is the result of food intolerances. So now I am perfecting my diet, getting back into shape and teaching violin and viola students.
