Federico Piantini205 Holland Ave.Ardmore, Pennsylvania Phone: 610-645-0160 Federico joined Violinist.com on May 17, 2006 Started violin studies at the age of 15, in El Conservatorio Nacional de Musica in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with Mto Ernesto Lereaux, continuing with Mto Rafael Gonzales Saiz, later with Prof. Mercedes Ariza de Diaz, and Mr. Felix Castillo Lachapelle. Coming to the US in 1981 to Combs College of Music, studying with Mr. David Grunschlag (First violins Philadelphia Orchestra) and later with Mr. Amadeo William Liva, who assited Galamian at Meadowmount and Juilliard. Graduating from Combs College with a BA in performance (1984) and Masters of Music, Music Ed. (1985). Freelancer around Philadelphia area; played with the Reading Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Trenton Symphony, Delaware Valley Philharmonic, Bucks County Symphony, Allentown Symphony. Member of Orchestra Society since April 1981 to the present, Lansdowne Symphony since 1990's, both these orchestras as Assistant Concertmaster, and Conductor. In 1975 became a member of Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional in Santo Domingo (National Symphony, Dominican Republic) second violins , and Concertino of Orquesta de Camara Juvenil (Youth Orqchestra) Dom. Rep. January 1977 I was part of "El Sitema" in Venezuela with La Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil "Simon Bolivar" under Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu. 1978 Miami Univ. Coral Gables workshop with the Portland Symphony String Quartet. In the years 1999 to 2006 Choral Conductor, participating in many choral workshops at Westminster Choir College, under Dr. James Jordan, Dr. Weston Noble, Dr. Paul Salamunovich (in Washington, D.C.). Continue to perform solo violin works in the Philadelphia area as well as conducting. Since 2004 I have been the Maestro of the Coro Gabriele D'Annunzio. Presently, working as Music Director, (Conductor), of the orchestras at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, from 2nd grade to high school groups, and teaching Violin privately.
