Jonathan Ellenbrand

New Albany, Indiana

Jonathan joined Violinist.com on Sep 21, 2012

I'm an aquarius, i used to be a pisces. I'm 29. I live in New Albany, IN which is near Louisville, Ky. I'm a professional performer in the Louisville Metro area.
I started violin at the age of 8, guitar at the age of 13, Piano at the age of 29. I took a ten year hiatus from Violin and have recently picked it back up. Its weird not having frets. But when I started guitar it was weird to have frets. It's all relative.
I'm a graduate of Indiana State University with a B.S. in Professional Aviation Flight Technology. I worked as an airline pilot for 5 years but I couldn't stand the hours of boredom and the loneliness of life on the road. So I hung up the wings and am now considering enrolling and auditioning at Indiana University Southeast or The University of Louisville to pursue Music Business, Education, Therapy or Composition. I'm 29 and i still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Probably never will.
I love all forms of music. Literally all forms, except Nickelback and modern rock, that stuff is horrible. I listen to everything from Beethoven, Chet Baker, Soundgarden, Thrice, Sigur Ros, to Madonna. I have over 2200 albums on my iTunes. I'm a non-prolific singer songwriter, due to extreme ADD. I'm saving up for some recording equipment for my Macbook Pro and plan on recording an album this winter in the closet of my 2nd floor Apartment. The closet recording EP should be available this Spring.

Currently listening to Fleet Foxes, Laura Marling, Bon Iver, Elliott, and Cat Power.

Was that a paragraph or two????
