I have studied and performed on violin since I was 10 years old. My private teachers are listed below. Laura Norris was formerly with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. William Martin was a fabulous teacher!! Ronald Oakland was formerly an instructor in the Music Department at the University of Maryland and is a Julliard graduate and now freelances in the NYC area. My studies with Ernesto Farago were at the Maryland Regional Center for the Performing Arts, and included chamber music coaching. I also had the pleasure of doing an indepth study, including performance, of Beethoven's Romance in F Major and Mozart's Sonata K.V. 301 under the direction of Dr. Elliott Galkin, former head of the Music Department at Goucher College, former music critic of The Baltimore Sun, violinist, and former director of the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

I have freelanced professionally in the Washington , DC area as a member of the Musicians Union, Local 161-710.

I have performed under many illustrious conductors, including Alexander Schneider, Leonard Bernstein, Morton Gould, Izler Solomon, Maurice Peress, Frederick Fennell, Isaiah Jackson, and John DeMain, to name just a few. And I have had the pleasure of playing for and working with many wonderful world famous artists, including Beverly Sills, Anna Moffo, Rudolph Nureyev, Valery and Galina Panov, Diana Ross, David Nadien, Earl Wild, and Irving Fields, to name just a few. I have also played for distinguished guests and celebrities, including Buzz Aldrin, Jackie Mason, Martin Lass, Julie Wilson, etc.

I have performed on violin as a soloist, with orchestras and with chamber music groups. I am also proficient with playing by ear as a strolling violinist. And I have self-taught myself to improvise and play in a blues style. I can also improvise and play in a jazz style as well. I was concertmistress of my junior high and high school orchestras, as well as first violinist with the Montgomery County Junior/Senior Youth Orchestras. As a member of the Senior Youth Orchestra, I participated in the First International Festival of Youth Orchestras, with performances in St. Moritz, Switzerland and Vienna, Austria. I also auditioned and won a place in the Maryland All-State Orchestra one year, and I played in the Wolf Trap Academy National Orchestra at Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts for two summers on a full scholarship. I also played in the American Youth Performs Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. I have performed publically in chamber music groups (quartet), including a performance at the Maryland Regional Center for the Performing Arts.

As a professional violinist, I have performed at the Mayflower Hotel, the Washington Hilton Hotel, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Pan American Union, the Kennedy Center, and Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts, to name just a few. I have played in the orchestra pit for full-length opera and ballet. I've played for a wedding and receptions.

I am proficient in the classical music style as well as being a strolling violinist. I also have an upcoming "blues" project with blues group "Montana", which includes participating in a cd recording and playing gigs to promote the cd. As a sideline in music, I also have some vocal training, including lessons with Ray Hyson, former leading man on Broadway. Violin has always been my forte though. I sang with the Washington Oratorio Society under the direction of Robert Shafer for one year. As a member, I got the opportunity to perform under Margaret Hillis and Leonard Bernstein. Performing under Bernstein was an incredible experience!
