Concertmaster Jessica Hung performs Bruch with the Dayton PhilharmonicSubmitted by Jessica Hung. When: Where: The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra's Miami Valley & Good Samaritan Hospitals Classical Series presents Fantastic Symphony, Romantic Concerto ~ THEOFANIDIS Rainbow Body JOHN DEMAIN conductor ~ Excerpted from the DPO website: Guest conductor John DeMain joins our new concertmaster, Jessica Hung, for this program featuring two major romantic works: one that formed the epicenter of the movement (Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique) and the other, a rare pearl of great emotional intensity (Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1). This is Ms. Hung’s first concerto excursion in her new post at the DPO. The opening work by Theofanidis is a spectral, atmospheric work based on a fragment of melody from a chant by medieval mystic Hildegard of Bingen. The Classical Series is sponsored by Miami Valley & Good Samaritan Hospitals. ~ Pre-Concert Lecture: TAKE NOTE, Mead Theatre, 7pm For tickets or more information: |
