The "Masters of the Bow" programme has been running for over a year, During that time I have included many violin rarities that otherwise would be difficult to find, two recordings of Ovid Musin and four of Alexander Petschnikoff(1873 - 1949). Tonight is no exception, I shall be including a Beethoven Sonata movement played by Robert Pollack(1880 - 1962) accompanied by Erich Korngold. The other week I played two vary rare recordings of Max Rostal made in Berlin in 1924 of two pieces by Erich Korngold. These recordings were maid available by Brendan Carroll who has written the definitive book on Korngold. Last weeks highlight was a live recording of Menuhin and Enesco playing a movement from the Bach Double from 1937.I hope this has excited you enough to be with me this evening. If you want any help in logging on to the broadcast, please contact me at violinland@talktalk.net and I will e-mail you the instructions..
