well i just registered with violinist.com so i figured what the heck let's make an entry in my blog...

let's see what can i say about me... i live in maryland and play first violin in the maryland youth symphony (myso).. it's a pretty decent orchestra with a phenomenal conductor, mr angelo gatto... the best violinist i've ever met. i've learned so much from just being in the orchestra. I'd describe my playing as having a solid foundation. Before I had to learn the Bach E Major Partita for college auditions I called myself lacking in technique, but that really helped whip me into shape, and now i'm making a concerted effort to do lots of scale work every day (rather than just running through them all every day not really thinking).

had a lesson today... good times... started the beethoven spring sonata, doesn't seem too technically hard, but i've got to ooze musicality when i play it. I'm going to start a Mozart sonata after the Beethoven and after that, well, i'm not sure (don't know if she'll start me on another concerto because my time with her ends in mid-august when i go off to shenandoah university's conservatory). i still have a bunch of etudes to catch up on... gotta finish up the mazas and kreutzer (played about half the mazas and about a third of the kreutzer).

well i'm tired... took a couple nyquil a little bit ago and now the monitor is starting to look fuzzy...

hopefully this'll be the first of many blog entries...
